HYFL and HSC Update
We are now two months into the season and all teams have settled into a nice rhythm. As the festive break approaches we wanted to let you know details of when matches and training will pause and then restart in the New Year.
Last training sessions for 2023 will be on Saturday 16th December.
Last midweek training sessions will be w/c 11th December.
Last matches for both the HYFL and HSC will be on Sunday 17th December. Matches will resume on Sunday 7th January and training will resume on Saturday 6th January.
Additional midweek training for the Spring term will be available to book on a first-come-first-serve basis from 4th December.
Referee Training Feedback
The referee training session ran on Saturday 11th November was really encouraging. We had a large turn out, handed out lots of whistles and answered lots of questions. Some parents got involved in refereeing for the first time as part of the training session. We are going to make it a standing invitation for the last 15 mins of training that any parents who are nervous about refereeing a Sunday match can practice during the training matches to help build up their confidence.
We will also be organising a female only session as this idea was well received by the women present and it sounds like there are more who’d like to learn in a less male environment. More info will follow.
If anyone needs any help or advice on refereeing please ask your team Parent Rep to pass your number on to Terry Brown and Terry will contact you to help however he can.
Club Kit Shop
We are delighted to inform you that our NUFC Online Club Shop is now Live! All NUFC members receive a 25% discount off the RRP which is automatically applied at checkout.
The club shop consists of playing kit, training wear, jackets, bags and base layers. All kit is available in youth and men sizes. A 5% rebate of all purchases goes back towards the club annually to spend on equipment etc. We hope you enjoy the new addition to the club.
Christmas Drinks
The club welcomes parents and carers from all of our Teams across the Northfields United FC community to come together for a Christmas Drinks Event. This year’s Christmas Social will be on December 7th. Get ahead and book your babysitter now!
Venue: The New Inn, St Mary’s Road, Ealing.
Time: From 7:30pm.
Please indicate your intent to attend with your Team’s Parent Rep team so we can get an idea of numbers.
Fundraising
The NUFC Committee have identified the need to purchase a defibrillator to ensure robust First Aid provision at all of our home venues. This is a significant investment which requires fundraising to finance the purchase and to kickstart this drive we are having a Christmas Raffle.
We have some amazing prizes, donated by local businesses and parents of the club that we will include in the Northfields United FC Christmas Raffle. The draw for the raffle will be at 9:30pm at the Christmas Drinks Event on the 7th December and prizes will be available for collection on the night and in the weeks before Christmas.
Tickets are £1 each and can be bought in multiples of 5 via the link below. Please help and purchase some tickets if you can and share the link with friends and family members who might like to also buy tickets!
Humberto’s Hut
Another important facet of our fundraising initiative is Humberto’s Hut. As well as being a fitting way of keeping Coach Humberto’s memory alive, all of the proceeds made from food and drink sales in Humberto’s Hut will be ploughed back into the NUFC kitty to help purchase essential club items as identified by the Committee. More information will follow on this shortly, but in the meantime, if you can help by taking the odd shift behind the counter every now and then it would be massively appreciated.
If you would like to help please sign up to the rota.
We hope you’ve found this update useful and we look forward to seeing many of you at the social on the 7th December.
Chris, Lara and the NUFC Committee
